Ryland's first day of Pre-K

Ryland started Pre-K at Stepping Stones Preschool on Wednesday Sept. 3rd. She was so excited about going that she could hardly go to sleep the night before. She goes Mon - Fri from 9:00 - 1:00. Her teacher is Mrs. Diane and they seem to have quite the agenda for the year! They are going to be learning the alphabet and numbers, their address and phone number all in preperation for Kindergarten next year.

Her class theme for the year is the "Rain Forest". Their classroom is decorated with wild animals and all types of jungle vines. Mrs. Diane is very creative! Her class pet is going to be a tiger, which they are going to "adopt" one as a class project. They have a jar in the classroom marked "Adopt-a-Tiger, and once they have collected $25.00, Ms. Diane will send in the request to Adopt-a-Tiger. The Wildlife Adoption Center will send them an 8" long stuffed tiger, a personalized certification of adoption, a 5x7 tiger photo and a tiger fact sheet. The student of the week will get to take the stuffed tiger home for the weekend!

Ryland's day will consist of Circle time, Music, Art, Dramatic play, Science, Reading and Outdoor play! She is going to be very tired when she comes home...as Ms. Diane keeps them hopping! There are 10 children in the class and one teacher! (6 boys and 4 girls) She takes her lunch everyday and we bought a new "Princess" lunchbox that she picked out herself from Target! She is so proud and becoming very independent! She is growing up so FAST!!!
