Ryland's first day of Pre-K

Ryland started Pre-K at Stepping Stones Preschool on Wednesday Sept. 3rd. She was so excited about going that she could hardly go to sleep the night before. She goes Mon - Fri from 9:00 - 1:00. Her teacher is Mrs. Diane and they seem to have quite the agenda for the year! They are going to be learning the alphabet and numbers, their address and phone number all in preperation for Kindergarten next year.

Her class theme for the year is the "Rain Forest". Their classroom is decorated with wild animals and all types of jungle vines. Mrs. Diane is very creative! Her class pet is going to be a tiger, which they are going to "adopt" one as a class project. They have a jar in the classroom marked "Adopt-a-Tiger, and once they have collected $25.00, Ms. Diane will send in the request to Adopt-a-Tiger. The Wildlife Adoption Center will send them an 8" long stuffed tiger, a personalized certification of adoption, a 5x7 tiger photo and a tiger fact sheet. The student of the week will get to take the stuffed tiger home for the weekend!

Ryland's day will consist of Circle time, Music, Art, Dramatic play, Science, Reading and Outdoor play! She is going to be very tired when she comes home...as Ms. Diane keeps them hopping! There are 10 children in the class and one teacher! (6 boys and 4 girls) She takes her lunch everyday and we bought a new "Princess" lunchbox that she picked out herself from Target! She is so proud and becoming very independent! She is growing up so FAST!!!

Ryland and "Uncle" Kyle's dance party at Aunt Dee Dee's

Aunt Dee Dee promised Ryland that we would have a dance party while we were visiting. So after our cookout on Friday night, we turned on some tunes and Ryland performed for all of us! (With a little help from Uncle Kyle!) She really got into it!

Sunday at the Lake

Brenner's 1st Boat Ride!!
What is this thing that my parents put on me?
I look like the Michelin man!!
Who needs a rocking chair when you have a floatie
and a pool?

Okay, I'm getting the hang of this!
Ryland's favorite seat on the boat!
We went to Lake Tillery on Sunday. Sha Sha met us down there. Brenner had never been on the boat before, so we thought we'd try and see how he did. As you can see from the pictures, he didn't mind the boat, but didn't care too much for his life vest.

It was very hot, so the kids also went swimming in the pool. Ryland met a friend and had a great time playing with her! Brenner was so relaxed that he actually fell asleep in his boat float!

Blogging

You will need to be careful with this Blog. Do not post too much information!!!

Welcome to our Family Blog!!!

After returning from a family trip to Arkansas, Haley (Kyle's wife) inspired me to start a blog for the kids. (Thanks Haley!! This is going to be fun!) We all know that life gets crazy sometimes and and it's hard to find the time to catch up with everyone... So I thought what a perfect way for everyone to know what's going on in our day to day life.... Here it is!

I really don't have much to talk about at the moment... still trying to work my way through all the directions and technical stuff. Bare with me.. it may take awhile. My goal is to have weekly posts and give everyone updates about the kiddos!

Enjoy!!!
